Midway the path of life that men pursue
I found me in a darkling wood astray,
For the direct way had been lost to view.
Ah me, how hard a thing it is to say
What was this thorny wildwood intricate
Whose memory renews the first dismay!
Scarcely in death is bitterness more great:
But as concerns the good discovered there
The other things I saw will I relate.
Some things are marketing. But not all the things. There is also wilderness and formal constraint and art.
(I’m trained in all three)
I teach writing — Film, TV, Radio, Podcast, Video Game, and Marketing — in the Media Studies department at Queens College CUNY. I got my start in developmental editing reading for the Charlotte Sheedy Agency and the Susan Ann Protter Agency. I have worked for Quality Paperbacks, Book of the Month Club, the Turner Tomorrow Award, the Scholastic Achievement Awards, and Penguin Random House.
Although individual ghost writing, rewriting, and developmental editing clients can’t be revealed contractually, my other clients include: Unnamed Press, Oxford University Press, New World Records, Columbia University Press, VERSO, MIT Press, Cambridge University Press, Halyk Finance, Duke University press, Tor, Simon & Schuster, Ballantine Books, Bantam Dell, Delacorte Press, Del Rey/ Spectra, The Dial Press, ESPN Books, The Modern Library, One World, Drawn & Quarterly, Presidio Press, Loveswept, Penguin Random House, Spiegel & Grau, Villard, Pocket Books, Pocket Star, Gallery Books, MTV Books, Our Town, Manhattan Spirit, Duke University Press, Indiana University Press, St. Martin’s, & cetera
Whatever the particular nature of your writing problem, I can help.
